Motorway and National Highway police will take over coastal highway from Karachi to Gwadar and Islamabad to Murree section shortly, to control traffic. Talking to APP here on Saturday Inspector General of Motorway and National Highway Police, Ahmad Nasim said that senior patrolling officers would be recruited shortly for this purpose.
He said that, from Karachi to Peshawar national highway is totally under traffic control of motorway police.
He said that more than three thousand senior patrolling officers are working on national highway and motorway. He said over-speeding is main cause of accidents which is being under-watch thoroughly. He said that forty percent staff of motorway police belong to provincial police cadre, while sixty percent is directly recruited in motorway and national highway police.
Ahmad Nasim said that five Deputy Inspectors General of public are posted in Motorway police to supervise different sections of this police.
Inspector General said some public welfare steps would be taken shortly.
Replying to a question he said to create traffic awareness in the main objective of motorway police.
He said that motorway and national highway is corruption free institutions which is recognised by every section of life.
