Singapore bunker prices were higher on Tuesday, tracking rising fuel oil cargo values but the bunker/cargo premium narrowed, dealers said. Prices for 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel were pegged at $253-$255 a tonne, up $5 a tonne from Monday, with the bunker premium at around $3-$4 a tonne, down $3 from the previous trading day.
"There's not much demand today and some mid-tier independents are showing offers at aggressive levels of $252-$253 a tonne and still barely getting a sniff," a Singapore-based supplier said.
"Even the majors have problems fixing deals at premiums of more than $4 a tonne today. The best deal I heard was at $255 a tonne for a small 800-tonne parcel."
