Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) will electrify over 300 more villages in Okara, Kasur, Shaikhupura and adjoining rural areas of Lahore district during the current fiscal year.
Chief Executive, Lesco, Engineer Mohammad Akram Arain told APP here on Tuesday that feasibility of 290 proposed villages is under process, adding that these will be electrified after the approval by technical committee of Lesco.
He said 353 villages in above-mentioned districts have been electrified from January 2003 to date with an estimated cost of Rs 286 million.
He said all SEs, Xens and SDOs of construction wing of Lesco have been directed to expedite the pace of electrification in their respective areas.
He said special arrangements have been made at sub division level in all districts to provide new power connections to all applicants on first come first served basis.
Chief Executive said that overall performance of all field officers is being monitored through computerised network and warned of strict action against those officials who would fail to deliver.
Mohammad Akram said mobile service has also been introduced in all the districts of Lesco where genuine grievances of the people are redressed on the spot.
