BUCHAREST: Romania's adjusted industrial output rose 1.9 percent on the month in August after rising by 1.2 percent a month before and was up 7.4 percent year-on-year, data from the National Statistics Board showed on Friday.
Output grew by 5 percent on the year in July.
The economy is expected to grow a modest 1.5 pecent this year, supported by exports and gradually recovering domestic demand, but both could be negatively hit by jitters over the euro zone's sovereign debt crisis and beyond.
