Lieutenant General F S Lodhi, one of the very honest and outspoken retired officer of the Pakistan Army who also served as Balochistan governor and federal interior minister, breathed his last here on Tuesday after protracted illness. He was facing liver problem.
His funeral prayers were held at the Masjid Sultan on Khyabane Hafiz in Defence Housing Authority. The Namaz-e-Janaza was attended by leading serving and retired army officials, officers of the Pakistan Air Force and the Pakistan Navy and a large number of civil servants.
A large number of friends and admirers of Lieutenant General Lodhi attended the Namaz-e-Janaza.
Later, his mortal remains were carried to the Defence Authority graveyard at Gizri where he was laid to rest. Lieutenant General Lodhi had suffered an aerial accident in Balochistan while Governor in which he was given blood transfusion but the blood as infected, and that gave the late general cirrhosis of the liver.
