Drug prices remained stable despite inflation

ISLAMABAD: Despite recent inflationary trend in the country, the medicine prices remained stable in the twin cities of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, reveals a survey carried out by Business Recorder, here on Wednesday.

Traders at different markets of the twin cities said there has been no shortage of medicines in the markets for the last one month. They added that the prices of life saving drugs and vaccines have not been raised by pharmaceutical companies. However, the supply of Neumarcazole (Used for thyroid infection) has increased considerably and contributed to its price hike from Rs 45 to Rs 100 (100 tablets), they added.

The pharmaceutical companies said that vaccines, anticancer and diagnostic kits are now available in the market with same prices.
