4mn livestock to vaccinate in flood areas
HYDERABAD: More than 4 million animals in the flood hit areas have been administered preventive vaccinations to immunise them against various diseases.
According to a handout issued by Directorate of Animal Husbandry here on Tuesday, the Department has set up 275 medical camps and activated 747 mobile teams of para-veterinarian staff in the flood affected areas.
The medical camps and mobile teams have so far provided treatment to 192,576 livestock which include 91,380 large animals and 101,081 small animals.
Similarly, the Department also administered anti-parasitic vaccinations to 159,976 large livestock animals and 132,772 small animals.
The Department also distributed 15,988 kilogrammes cost- free fodder for animals in Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Sanghar and Shaheed Benazirabad districts.
