KARACHI: Gold surged by Rs343 to Rs48,171 per 10 grams in the local market Tuesday, as its international price improved to $1,668 an ounce, market sources said.

According to the Karachi Saraf Association officials, tola (11.664 grams) price also increased by Rs400 to Rs56,200.

Silver closed higher to Rs951.42 per 10 grams.
