In a statement issued on Friday, Pemra said that it had received 1,133 complaints through Whatsapp, Twitter and telephone calls regarding the Ramazan transmissions hosted by Hamza Ali Abbasi on Aaj News. PEMRA has barred the actor from hosting the show.
According to PEMRA statement, provocative conversations took place during the shows which has led to much anger and sadness. The regulatory body asked Aaj TV to implement the decision by 7pm on June 17, 2016. Hamza Ali Abbasi was hosting a Ramazan show on Aaj TV in which he discussed the 2nd amendment in the constitution of Pakistan which declared Ahmadis as non-Muslims.
Social media explodes after the news went viral. Fans took to Twitter and different social networking sites to show their support to the ‘Man Mayal’ actor.
