The Government of Pakistan has allowed 25% freight subsidy on export of oranges and kinoo to new markets as per terms and rules of trade policy 2002-03. I would like to draw attention to some of the fresh fruits exporters misusing the said policy.
PSTC CODE: 5711 oranges fresh or dried. Some fruit exporters are showing the commodity "oranges" in customs shipping bills instead of Kinoo just to get the freight subsidy and after reaching the consignment in open sea the said cargo is always diverted to actual destinations.
FREIGHT SUBSIDY ON EXPORTS TO NEW MARKETS: Freight subsidy is also available for the new markets as per list issued by EPB, some exporters are showing these country names in customs shipping bills and finally these all shipments/containers are also diverted to actual destinations as the above case.
The record of kinoo shipments with actual destinations from the all shipping lines may be obtained.
The Chairman, Export Promotion Bureau, is requested to take this matter seriously to save the funds of the country and also to save the genuine exporters.
