KESC will provide one-window facility to the city builders and developers for speedy disposal of their power supply cases.
KESC MD, Brigadier Tariq Saddozai announced this while presiding over a meeting with a delegation of Association of Builders and Developers (Abad) on Wednesday.
He allowed the said facility to the members of the association and agreed upon a time frame for processing of their cases at the KESC.
According to a KESC spokesman, the meeting was also informed that the matter of availing NOC for new projects could not be considered as the Sindh Chief Minister had already exempted the builders and developers from seeking no objection from the power utility for their projects.
The meeting agreed that for load assessment of the projects instead of only higher and lower categories there should be three categories, a new medium load category.
The Abad team agreed that in view of the waiver of the system development charges, the present KESC charges of 11 KVA (higher tension extension and feeder) would be proportionate to the power load of the project.
Further, the meeting agreed to refer the matter of accepting the Abad undertaking for partial energisation of the projects to the KESC legal department for opinion. Besides, it was also decided that the joint committee of Abad and KESC engineers would meet regularly to resolve the recurring issues of the builders and developers regarding power supply for their projects.
Besides, the head of the Abad delegation, Engr Farooq uz Zaman Khan, Nusrat Chughtai, Yunus Lakhani, M Arif, Haji Islam Siddiqui also represented the association in the meeting. Whereas, From KESC side, Brigadier Irfan Ali (Retd), Chief Engineer, Khalid Iqbal, Jamil Gul, Anis Qureshi, M Shabbir, Shabbir Solangi, Lieutenant Colonel Zahid Hamid, Anwer Ali Roomi and Mahmood Ahmed attended the meeting.
