Betting rates on India moved up to 85 paisa from Re 1 a couple of days ago after team's massive score against Pakistan 'A' team on Thursday, sources at the local market said.
The Indian team lost the match after piling up 335 runs in 50 overs match against Pakistan 'A'.
The betting rate for India improved after their batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Verender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid remained the key scorers on Thursday's practice match in the Qaddafi Stadium.
According to the punters the batting line-up of India is the "trump card" and if the team scored 30 to 40 runs less against the full bowling battery of Pakistan, the chances of winning the match would increase, hence, the rate improved from Re 1 to 85 paisa. The Pakistan's betting rate dropped slightly to 75 paisa from 70 paisa.
The main factor behind this slight adjustment was that the team members would be under pressure after their junior players chased the target comfortably and snatched the victory from the jaws of defeat from the Indian team.
According to a punter the betting on scores would be settled after the announcement of Pakistan team. However, he said that from the toss, which team would bat first, who would open, who would be the first wicket taker and the players to score maximum runs would be decided.
