The Lahore High Court (LHC), while accepting a petition against State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), set aside the notification issued by the Central Bank, directing all the financial institutions to provide details about those account holders getting profit of more than Rs ten thousand per month.
The petitioner, M D Tahir, has approached the court with prayer to declare the action of the respondent bank (SBP) as illegal, unconstitutional and without lawful authority.
The petitioner contended that under the constitutional provisions and secrecy act, the respondent banks are bound to keep details of the accounts of the account holders secret.
He said that if the banks would start giving information of the accounts, the people would withdraw their money from the banks and country's economy would suffer.
The court, after hearing the petitioner and the law officer, accepted the petition and set aside the notification in question. non-bailable arrest warrants of DPO issued
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued non-bailable arrest warrants of District Police Officer (DPO) Okara, as he failed to appear before the court, despite repeated notices served upon him in a petition regarding the abduction of a girl from Darul Aman.
The court, while issuing arrest warrants and taking serious note of absence of DPO, observed that the police officials used to ignore the court orders.
One Ghulam Rasool had approached the august court against the abduction of a girl from a Darul Aman.
He prayed to the court to direct the respondent to get recovered the abductee.
The court called the respondent but he failed to appear before the court and the court issued his arrest warrants.
