An Accountability Court (AC) while accepting petition filed by former directors of Asian Development Corporate Society (ADCS) Sarwar Khokhar, Malik Zulfiqar Ali and Rana Asif, has announced to withdraw proceedings in a reference against them, as they have reached an agreement with National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The accused had been facing the charges of misusing the funds of the society and thus causing damage to the public exchequer in worth millions of rupees.
Under the agreement, the accused Sarwar has paid Rs 1.0 million, Rana Asif Rs 500,000 and Malik Zulfiqar Rs 400,000 to the NAB.
Meanwhile, another accountability court adjourned the proceedings in a reference against former Federal Minister, Jehangir Badr to March 15, as his counsel did not appear before the court.
The accused is facing the charges of corruption and making illegal assets in excess of his income. He is also facing the charges of misusing his office as federal minister.
Similarly, another accountability court put off the proceedings for two weeks in a reference against former Mayor Sargodha, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed as his counsel failed to appear before the court.
