NEW YORK: US stocks opened sharply higher after an upward revision to US second quarter growth estimates and following a key German vote approving the eurozone's newest bailout package.
Ten minutes into trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.85 percent, while the broader S&P 500 added 1.7 percent, and the Nasdaq gained 1.6 percent.
