Philippine central bank sees one-off inflation impact from typhoon

MANILA: The Philippine central bank said on Wednesday crop damages and supply constraints caused by Typhoon Nesat will likely have a one-off impact on domestic inflation.

"We have not received a report on the extent of the damage on crops and delivery of goods and services," Deputy Governor Diwa Guinigundo told Reuters in a mobile text message. "In case of inflationary impact, this would at worst be one off."

The central bank is targeting inflation of 3 to 5 percent this year from 3.8 percent average last year.
