Dengue claims 100 lives in Punjab

ISLAMABAD: Dengue has claimed 100 lives in Punjab while over 10,000 cases have been confirmed, on Monday.

The provincial capital has been the worst hit where 9,148 cases have been reported and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that the anti-Dengue campaign be intensified, reported a private news channel.

Special units to treat Dengue patients have also been formed at six government hospitals of Lahore and they have been provided Rs20 million for this purpose.

A team from the World Health Organization (WHO) also arrived which would formulate a strategy to deal with the rapidly spreading Dengue virus.
