BRUSSELS: Belgian stocks shed 5.05 percent on Thursday, matching heavy losses in London, Frankfurt and Paris after Wall Street opened sharply lower.

At 1500 GMT, the Bel-20 index closed down 5.05 percent at 2,009.02 points, having earlier fallen to 2,006.17 points, echoing sharp slides globally on US Federal Reserve warnings of possible renewed recession in the world's biggest economy.
