JUI-F too against torture on women: Fazalur Rehman

Published Updated

imageMULTAN: Chief of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI F) Moulana Fazalur Rehman said on Tuesday that they were also against torture on women but the recent bill of women protection was against the spirit of Islamic teachings and the constitution.

He was addressing a press conference at Jamia Kherul Madarass after condoling with Moulana Hanif Jalandhary over death of noted scholar Moulana Siddique here. He said the bill should have been sent to the council of islamic ideology (CII).

He alleged that efforts were being made to push Ulema and religious seminaries to wall.

Speaking on the occasion, Nazim of Wafaqul Madarass Moulana Hanif Jalandhary said that they would oppose women protection bill.
