KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr. ishrat ul Ebad Khan has called for timely completion of the on-going development projects so that people could benefit from these facilities.
Presiding over a meeting held at the Governor House here on Thursday, he stressed that attention be also paid towards the quality of work.
The meeting reviewed the work pertaining to K-IV, M-9 Motorway, Malir Expressway, Lyari Expressway.
The Governor said that the K-IV project would provide additional 600 MGD water to the people of Karachi.
He stated that the project has been initiated keeping in view the city's growing water requirements. Frontier Works Organization will take up this project.
Ebad directed that the remaining 5.3 km portion of Lyari Expressway be completed at the earliest.
He said this is an important project and completion of its second track will help flow of traffic from Mauripur Road to Sohrab Goth.
The Governor said that M-9 would help provide latest travel facilities from Karachi to Hyderabad.
He also called for connectivity between Blue Line from Sohrab Goth to Motorway.
Ebad said that Malir Expressway would help heavy traffic bypass the city and provide easy access to Education City and DHA.
The Director General of Frontier Works Organization, Maj. Gen. Muhammad Afzal, briefed the Governor about M-9 project.
He said it would be installed with automated tax system which would be fully computerized. There will be solar system for provision of electricity. UPS would also be installed. As many as 14 overhead bridged and under passes would be constructed.
