Pakistan’s banned captain Salman Butt has finally admitted his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal in 2010 in a bid to get some relaxation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) when his five-year ban ends in September.
Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked Butt to admit his fault in the 2010 spot-fixing case so that they can help him in getting relaxation by ICC from further ban.
PCB on Thursday released confession statement by Butt in which he repents his actions of wrongdoing in cricket.
By confessing that he was involved in the notorious 2010 spot-fixing scandal occurred during the final Test against England at Lord’s, Salman has left himself at the mercy of the International Cricket Council (ICC). He also apologizes for his act and said, “I admit the decision of the ICC tribunal. I said before and am saying again to all those who have been disappointed by my actions that I do apologise to them,” local media reported.
He also advised other players to refrain themselves from such activities as it damages the spirit of the game.
