Bollywood singer Mika Singh was arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly slapping a doctor at a concert, but later got released on bail.
According to Indian media reports, the doctor Shrikant, an ophthalmologist at Ambedkar Hospital, who reportedly suffered an internal injury inside his left ear, filed a police complaint against Mika, on which the singer has been put to arrest.
Police registered a case of causing hurt and wrongful restraint against Mika Singh. As per Indian media reports, Mika has said that Dr Shrikant was drunk and had made a rude gesture at the singer after he was repeatedly asked not to stand near a group of women at the concert.
“Whenever men dance, kids and women get pushed behind so I was trying to get women in the front and men behind them. He (doctor) was drunk and did not listen to me though I kept telling him to move aside and let others enjoy. I did what I felt was for the betterment of our ladies and children and I will always continue to stand up against what is wrong,” Singh added.
After the incident, Mika had defended himself and has been released on bail from the Inderpuri police station in West Delhi.
Mika Singh is the voice behind several Bollywood hits including ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ from ‘Kick’ and ‘Subah Hone Na De’ from ‘Desi Boyz’.
