Exports ease to Britain, rise to Germany

OSLO: Norwegian natural gas exports to Europe were broadly steady on Thursday as a drop in flows to Britain was offset by higher deliveries to Germany, data from gas system operator Gassco showed.

Deliveries to Britain, Europe's biggest traded gas market, eased by 8 million cubic metres (mcm) per day from Wednesday to 99 mcm/day by 1100 GMT on Thursday.

Continental Europe was taking more gas due to colder weather, but temperatures were expected to rise there from the weekend onwards, leaving more gas flowing to Britain, analysts at Thomson Reuters Point Carbon said.
