ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister's Focal Person on Polio Eradication Ayesha Raza Farooq on Monday strongly condemned the attack on the polio team in Charsada, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement, she said that the team was performing a noble task of protecting children from life crippling disease, adding, those harming the health workers are enemies of Pakistan and the entire humanity.
The government's resolve is stronger than ever before to wipe out the crippling disease and every Pakistani must play his or her role in the mission, she added.
"Such cowardly attacks against our goal of Polio Free Pakistan will further strengthen our resolve to stamp this menace out of the country. I urge the provincial government to take all measures necessary to protect the polio teams and ensure safe conduct of polio campaigns", Prime Minister's Focal Person said.
"Those who are involved in attacks on humanitarian activities are enemies of our nation and we must combine our efforts to protect our children from this debilitating disease.'
