Disney’s most celebrated cartoon character Mickey Mouse has turned 86 on Tuesday, Disney has arranged big plans for the birthday of their popular fictional character.
According to media reports, Disney Channel presents a new Mickey Mouse cartoon and a new birthday-themed episode of ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’. ‘Clubhouse’ episodes will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mickey Mouse cartoons also will air every half-hour, starting at 2:25 p.m.
One of the most recognizable cartoons in the world, Mickey Mouse made his debut in a short film ‘Steamboat Willie’ on 18 November 1928, one of the first sound cartoons. Since then, he has appeared in over 130 films.
Mickey Mouse has won many awards for the best fictional character in the world; it was also the very first cartoon character to get a star in ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ in 1978.
Created by Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse has played a central role in the Disney parks since the opening of Disneyland in 1955. Various merchandise and video games has also been made on famous Disney mascot.
