US 'strongly condemns' Kabul hotel attack
WASHINGTON: The United States condemned Tuesday a suicide attack by suspected Taliban insurgents on the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, offering condolences to victims but providing no details on any American casualties.
"The United States strongly condemns the attack on the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, which once again demonstrates the terrorists' complete disregard for human life," the State Department said.
"We extend our condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this attack," a written statement continued. "We do not have any information about private American citizens at this time, but continue to follow up on the situation."
