Oil firm DNO declares force majeure in Yemen

OSLO: Norwegian oil firm DNO is declaring force majeure in Yemen, where it produces oil, the firm said on Monday. "DNO has temporarily suspended production from block 32 and block 43," the firm said in a statement.

It said that on Saturday local trade unions "initiated unilateral actions that have led to work stoppages" at the blocks. Operations had been limited since late last year due to "local groups restricting movement and equipment, supplies and contractors".

Prior to the suspension, the firm produced 1,600 barrels of oil per day on average on an aggregate company working interest basis (3,400 bopd on an aggregate gross basis).
