ADELAIDE: The Reserve Bank of Australia's last interest rate hike in November had a big impact on households and it is difficult to know how long consumer spending would remain subdued, a top central banker said on Friday.
Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Assistant Governor Philip Lowe said the central bank was closely watching data to try and gauge how long this spending caution might last.
Lowe made those comments at a Q&A after giving a speech at a business luncheon in Adelaide.
