Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim where a ship carrying containers was allotted berth at QICT Terminal on Wednesday, June 22.
Meanwhile, four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, wheat and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was maintained at 55pc at the Port on Wednesday where a total of seven ships namely CGM Strauss, Acacia-N, Al Azizoo, Orient III, Sam Eagle, Indigo Ocean and Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load,offload containers, cement, fuel oil, wheat and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 66874 tonnes, comprising 51841 tonnes Imports and 15033 tonnes exports Inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 991 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
CGM Strauss sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while MV. Fair Spirit will sail later today.
Four ships MT. Nexoe Maersk, CGM Eiffel, CSAV Pyrenees and SC Gouji are expected to take berths at QICT and LCT Terminals respectively on Thursday, June 23.
