LONDON: European stock markets rose sharply Tuesday, optimistic that the embattled new Greek government would survive a confidence vote in Athens.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top shares climbed 1.44 percent to finish the day at 5,775.31 points.
In Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.89 percent to 7,285.51 points while in Paris the CAC 40 rose 2.04 percent at 3,877.07 points.
