OSLO: Norwegian gas exports fell on Monday morning from Friday's average, with deliveries to France dropping the most after Statoil reported a large outage on Sunday evening, data from gas system operator Gassco showed.
Norway's Statoil said it would reduce natural gas output by 24.5 million cubic metres (mcm) on Monday, down by about a tenth from the country's output on Friday, due to an unplanned outage.
While Statoil didn't name the field, the outage volume indicates it was likely to be affecting production from the Aasgard gas field in the Norwegian Sea.
The field produces around 35 mcm/day, while Statoil reports only gas volumes that it markets, including state-owned gas.
The outage would account for 70.3 percent of the field's total production.
