ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the government's finance team has put together all their efforts in preparing a balanced and pro people budget, which in the coming day will prove to be the basis of overall economic progress of the country.
He mentioned that transfer of resources to the province would help in addressing the pressing problems of the people. The Prime Minister was talking to Parliamentarians who called on him at his Parliament House Chamber on Friday.
Talking about the education and health sector development, he said that if taken together the Federal and Provincial Government would be spending 32% additional resources in these sectors.
The Prime Minister also directed the Interior Minister and the Chief Minister Sindh to hold meeting with all members of the Parliament belonging to Karachi to discuss law and order situation of the metropolitan.
The Interior Minister updated the Prime Minister on the security situation of Karachi during the meeting. The Parliamentarian informed the Prime Minister about various issues relating to their respective constituencies.
They also briefed him about the status of development schemes in their areas. The Parliamentarians included Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik and MNAs, Sardar Nabeel Gabool, Ms. Fiza Junejo and Mr. Khan Zada Khan.
