We all are collectively fighting war on terrorism: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday assured the Lower House of the Parliament that we all are collectively fighting the war on terrorism and there is no second opinion on it.
Condemning the target killings in Karachi, the Prime Minister said that he had discussed the issue withthe provincial Governor and Chief Minister and sought its report. Responding to various points raised by members from MQM and Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, the Prime Minister said though law and order is a provincial subject and federal government cannot directly interfere in it but he has called its report.
About the point of Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao regarding victims fund for terrorism affected people, the Prime Minister said that he has already issued directions in this regard and these would be implemented.
The Prime Minister said that Shaheed Fund had already been set up for the martyrs of Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies and a seed money had been given for it from Prime Minister Fund. Prime Minister Gilani said that the fund has been created in Ministry for Information and Broadcasting for those journalists who become victims of terrorism. The Prime Minister, on a point raised by Aftab Sherpao announced establishing Revolving Fund for immediate rehabilitation of infrastructure.
The Prime Minister said that bazaars, schools, hospitals, bus stands, railways stations are easy targets of terrorists. He said that the financial help from Friends of Democratic Pakistan (FODP) and financial institutions is being spent on reconstruction and rehabilitation of schools on priority basis.
