port-qasimKARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Part Qasim where two ships carrying furnace oil and edible oil were allotted berths at FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday, June 13.

Meanwhile, six more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, wheat, diesel oil, iron ore and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 60% at the Port on Monday where a total of seven ships namely MV. Alexi-I, Abdull, Irini, Nahide-M, Golden Ambrosia, Fair Sprit and MV. Argent Eye Bright are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, wheat, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 81168 tonnes, comprising 68833 tonnes imports and 12335 tonnes exports, was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

MV. Al Azizoo sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while MV. Fair Sprit and Golden Ambrosia will sail later today.

Six ships MV. Zam Zam, CGM Mozart, Al Sabahia, Sam Eagle, Al Salam II and MV. Atena are expected to take berths at QICT, M/W-3, FOTCO and IOCB Terminals respectively on Tuesday, June 14.
