ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday stressed for close coordination among the coalition partners to launch calibrated policies to steer the country out of present difficulties.

In a meeting with Ch Pervaiz Elahi, Senior Minister and Minister for Defence Production alongwith Ch Wajahat Hussain, Minister for Labour and Manpower at PM House, the Prime Minister said despite financial constraints, the government had presented a balanced budget with the objective to provide maximum relief to the common man.

The Prime Minister said overall economic outlook of the country was encouraging with exports crossing 25 billion dollars mark while foreign remittances during the last financial year were more than 11 billion dollars.

He stated that the production of wheat during the Rabi season would ensure food security and also bring prosperity in the rural areas.

Appreciating the government's consistent policies, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said the country had shown a remarkable resilience despite the losses caused by devastating floods and war on terror.

He hoped that the economic performance during the financial year 2011-12 would be much better and help to recoup last year's damages.
