SIALKOT: The paddy crops on as many as 0.4 million acres of land would be cultivated in Sialkot district during this season.
District Officer (Agriculture) Sialkot Ch. Muhammad Yousaf disclosed this while addressing the participants of a refresher course regarding paddy and cotton yields protection seminar held here.
He said that the agriculture department has formulated as many as 45 special teams which would give the necessary training, guidance to the growers and farmers in all the four Sialkot districts, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils under a multi-phased Farmers Training Programme.
The seminar was told that there was a record bumper wheat yield in Sialkot district (a hub of producing best quality bumper wheat yield) this year, as the wheat yield was 0.7 million tons from 550,000 acres of land, which is a record.
