City administration arrests three and fines 69 profiteers

KARACHI: Karachi administration in its ongoing crackdown against profiteers arrested three retailers and fined 68 others of Rs.89,500, said a Commissioner Office spokesman Tuesday.

Sharing details of the exercise undertaken on Monday, he said assistant commissioners and divisional magistrates said shopkeepers arrested and challaned were from Gulshan e Iqbal, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Airport, Bin Qasim, Liaqutabad, SITE, Gulberg, North Nazimabad and Garden areas.

The shopkeepers fined included 23 chicken sellers, 18 milk sellers, 14 green grocers, six grocers, five fruit sellers and two flour millers.
