Rosneft halts crude distillation unit at Kuibyshev refinery after fire

MOSCOW: Russia's top oil producer Rosneft has stopped a crude distillation unit for five days at its Kuibyshev refinery in the Volga river region after a fire, Rosneft said on Thursday.

A fire broke out at the unit, known as CDU-5 with capacity of 3,5 million tons per year (700,000 bpd).

A company spokesman said Rosneft will still continue to supply oil products from the Kuibyshev plant, while the cut in refinery output would be offset by increasing processing on two neighbouring Syzran and Novokuibyshevsk refineries.
