KARACHI: Sindh government has released 100 percent funds for no less than 293 different, ongoing development schemes in Karachi and expects these to be completed by December 31, 2013.
Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah in this context has directed Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmad to personally supervise these schemes with specific reference to their quality completion.
The Karachi based schemes particularly include two way fly-over at Ayesha Manzil, another two way fly-over at Daak-Khana, S.M.Taufiq Road and Expansion of Teen Hatti Bridge by December 31.
Other projects to be completed before 2014 include rehabilitation and improvement of internal streets in Lyari Town, renovation and upgradation of existent play grounds in different districts in the city that particularly include Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Park / Kakri Ground Malir, revamp of boxing clubs scattered across Lyari, improvement and upgradation of vertical - non clogging- pumps at various water pumps in the city, construction of up-graded tanks at Moosa Lane and so-forth.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the Additional Chief Secretary (P&D) Arif Ahmad Khan to see that all concerned departments involved in the ongoing 293 projects must duly report to the Commissioner Karachi.
Meanwhile chairing a meeting to review pace of work of all ongoing schemes under annual development schemes in the province the Chief Minister also took a brief on physical and financial progress of ADP schemes for 2013-2014.
He has also asked the Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development, to coordinate with the Commissioner and focus on the issue of bottle-necks that may be hampering progress or leading to compromise in the quality of work vis- a- vis structure of Karachi- based projects.
