102 shopkeepers challaned on Tuesday for fleecing consumers

KARACHI: The city administration in its ongoing crackdown against profiteers on Tuesday fined 102 shopkeepers of Rs. 1,74,900 for overcharging purchasers of edible items and also violating the officially approved price list for the city.

Teams of magistrates and assistance commissioners in their daily inspection of markets and shops, scattered across the city, challaned 28 milk sellers, 24 fruit vendors, 12 green grocers, 26 grocers, seven chicken sellers, one meat seller and four flour millers.
