OSLO: Norwegian pipeline gas exports firmed on Wednesday on higher flows to Germany, which more than offset a drop in supplies to Britain.
Deliveries to Europe including Britain were up to 264 million cubic metres (mcm) by 1000 GMT versus an average of 257 mcm on Tuesday.
Combined supplies to Germany and the Netherlands rose by 15 mcm to 149 mcm, while those to Britain, Europe's biggest traded market, fell by 12 mcm to 31 mcm.
Flows through the Vesterled pipeline to UK remained shut due to ongoing maintenance at a receiving terminal at St. Fergus.
Exports inched up to Belgium by 3 mcm to 40 mcm, and those to France were steady at 44 mcm.
Maintenance at several gas fields on the Norwegian continental shelf reduced output by more than 90 mcm per day this week.
