Polio case detected in Mardan

PESHAWAR: Another case of polio virus attack was detected on Friday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), carrying the total number of polio cases to four during the current year.

According to Chief Secretary, Polio Monitoring Cell, presence of polio virus was confirmed in two-and-a-half-year boy named Huzaifa of Salaar Killay, Mardan.

This was the third case of polio virus attack in KP while fourth in the country during the year 2013.

Sources said that Huzaifa's parents had refused immunization drops to their child.
