MOSCOW: January crude loadings from Russia's key southern export outlet, the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk, are likely to fall short of the monthly loading plan after a pipeline leak caused a halt to deliveries, a spokesman for Russia's pipeline operator said.
Transneft spokesman Igor Dyomin said pipeline shipments to Novorossiisk were halted on Sunday after the leak along a section of pipeline which runs through the Rostov region.
"We hope to restore flows on Tuesday. We are working to replace the damaged section," Dyomin said, adding that some 50 cubic metres of oil had been spilled.
He said that January loading programme at Novorossiisk, which had been due to handle 3.075 million tonnes of Urals crude blend, would delayed due to the leak and storms which briefly halted loadings earlier in the month.
"The January programme will be rolled over to February," he said.
