HAMBURG: An importer group in Thailand is believed to have rejected all offers and made no purchase in a tender which closed on Wednesday for about 240,000 tonnes of animal feed wheat but instead bought an unknown volume of feed barley from Australia, European traders said.
The group was instead believed to have bought an unknown volume of animal feed barley from Australia at about $200 a tonne c&f for nearby shipment and $193-$195 a tonne c&f for November shipment.
Feed wheat prices offered were regarded as too high.
The group was said to have been seeking to buy wheat at around $205 a tonne c&f.
The group had sought feed wheat from optional origins in four consignments for shipment between Aug. 1-20, Aug. 21 and Sept. 10, Sept. 11-30 and Oct. 1-31.
