KARACHI: The ban on pillion riding would be lifted from midnight tonight.

A statement here on Thursday said the directive to this effect has been issued by the Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wassan, to Additional Chief Secretary (Home).

He commented that the decision in this regard has been taken keeping in view the inconveniences of the people.

The statement further said the Minister has denied that hotels have been asked to close by midnight and said that there was no truth in such reports.

Manzoor Wassan has also asked the police to enhance security at the public places.

He also called for increasing police patrolling, snap checking and deployment of plan clothed police personnel at public places.
