QUETTA: Security has further been tightened in the provincial capital in the wake of Saturday's shooting that left as many as eight innocent civilians dead and many others injured.
Quetta police sources told APP here Tuesday that the number of police pickets had been increased along the roads linking Hazara Town with the city besides augmenting the deployment at already established check posts in the provincial capital.
The law enforcement agencies officials also kept patrolling the vicinity round the clock in order to shun the attacks by the armed assailants on vehicles carrying the members of Hazara community to the city from their residences.
The fresh contingents of Balochistan Frontier Corps that were convened following the latest terrorism incident were assisting the police force raiding the suspected hideouts of the miscreants involved in sectarian violence.
The police and FC teams raided on Tuesday a number of locations including Sariab Road, Sabzal Road, Kharoatabad and taken into custody dozens of suspects to determine their involvement in the subversive activities.
The pillion riding on motorcycle has been banned under 144 of CrPC in the provincial capital besides launching a crackdown against vehicles with tinted glasses and without registration number plates. Police and FC impounded several such vehicles on Tuesday.
Partial normalcy has returned to the city after three days as a result of stringent security measures on the part of law enforcement agencies.
Business activities resumed in the main markets while a normal rush of shoppers was witnessed in the bazaars. Traffic remained on the road and local transport companies also resumed services. Attendance at schools and public offices also remained normal.
