KARACHI: After more than twenty-seven years with Engro, Asad Umar President and CEO of Engro Corporation, has decided to take early retirement and pursue other interests.
A statement issued here on Monday said that Umar joined Exxon Chemical Pakistan Limited in February 1985 as a Business Analyst.
His career progressed through various assignments in different divisions of the company and he was appointed CEO of Engro Polymer and Chemicals in October 1997.
In January 2004 he became the President and CEO of Engro Corporation (then known as Engro Chemical).
In his eight years as President and CEO of Engro Corporation, Umar transformed a chemical company into a major Pakistani conglomerate.
His successor will be announced by the end of April and will assume the position during the month of May, it was further stated.
