Ambassador delivers special message of Qatari Amir to President Zardari

ambassador zardariISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Qatar Sayar Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Mawdah on Friday called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr and delivered a personal letter of Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Pak-Qatar bilateral relations and mutual cooperation especially in trade and investment were discussed during the meeting.

The President while highlighting the cordial relations between the two countries said that the recent visit of the Prime Minister opened a new chapter in the bilateral relations.

He expressed satisfaction that the bilateral relations were not only being strengthened but were also being transformed in such a way where the two countries could take advantage of their mutual existing resources.

The President underscored the need for putting in place a robust framework for mutually beneficial partnership of the two countries and for early implementation of MoUs and agreements that have been signed during the visit of Prime Minister this February.

He said, "we attach great importance to enhancing our economic equation with Qatar and we would especially welcome Qatari investment in infrastructure projects, highways, energy, agriculture, information technology and other sectors."

He said that the people of Pakistan greatly appreciate prompt response and assistance received from Qatar at all hours of distress.

The President also noted the important role being played by around 90,000 Pakistani expatriates in socio-economic development of Qatar and said that their presence was a reflection of the strong bonds and keen desire to further contribute towards the development of Qatar by meeting manpower requirement.

Ambassador Sayar Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Mawdah thanked the President for meeting and said that the leadership and the people of Qatar were also eager to further strengthen their relations with Pakistan and its people.
