The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) on Thursday said they were going to resume their Left Ventricle Assist Device (LVAD) insertion program shortly after training of their technicians, paramedics and nursing staff for the 'post-operative care' completed successfully and added that they were now looking for the suitable heart patients for the transplant of mechanical device so that they could live normal and healthy lives.
"Training of our paramedical and nursing staff to take care of patients who receive LVAD devices has been completed and now we are in the processing of identifying suitable candidates for the transplant of mechanical device that is implanted in the chests of patients whose hearts do not work properly", said Professor Nadeem Qamar, the Executive Director of NICVD while talking to newsmen.
