ISLAMABAD: Lawmakers of ANP and PML-N on Tuesday exchanged harsh words and traded allegations against each other during the joint sitting of Parliament.
The uproar started when ANP's Senator Haji Adeel on a point of order protested for not inviting a single businessman or industrialist from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to Monday's energy summit in Lahore.
He said that the smaller provinces were being ignored on major issues, adding that their province was producing more electricity and gas from their requirement but were facing severe loadshedding.
He said all flour mills and other industries had been closed in the KP but the authority concerned, particularly the Punjab province always imposed Section 144 on transportation of wheat to other provinces.
He said,"We do not like such kind of a federation where the rights of smaller provinces are being usurped." On this PML-N's Haneef Abbasi, Capt Safdar and others stood up and chanted slogans.
The lawmakers from both the parties exchanged harsh words against each other but later the Deputy Speaker asked other lawmakers to pacify them.
